IMPORTANT COVID19 UPDATE 1/10/2020:
[ NOTE: Guests are responsible for ensuring they are adhering to any travel restrictions or legislation in place relating to COVID19 ]

For all new bookings made after March 25th 2020:
Should your stay be affected by government-imposed travel restrictions as a result of COVID19, we are offering flexibility in our terms and conditions to allow a credit to postpone your stay. This credit will be valid for use until 1st September 2021.

For those guests wishing to continue with their travel plans despite travel restrictions imposed by COVID19:
We ask that all guests carefully consider the government advice and legislation current at the time of their stay with regards to travel restrictions and the number of people permitted to gather together both in indoor and outdoor spaces. While our spaces are self-contained, it is the responsibility of the guests to ensure they are adhering to current legislation and maintaining social distancing during their stay. Note failure to comply with government-issued advice may be punishable by law resulting in large fines or imprisonment. Salt at Shoal Bay will not be held liable for any penalties incurred due to guests breach of COVID19 restrictions.

For those wishing to cancel their travel plans due to travel restrictions imposed by COVID19:
We are offering flexibility in our current cancellation policy to provide a credit for change of date ONLY to postpone any stays that have a check-in date occurring before the 30th of June 2020. This credit may be used for bookings anytime between now and 1st September 2021.- For those wishing to cancel their stay entirely:
Guests will be subject to our standard terms and conditions.

Cancellations or further date changes on COVID19 postponed stays:
Should your postponed dates be affected by COVID19 travel restrictions further rescheduling of COVID19 postponed dates will be allowed on a case by case basis. Future credits are at the full discretion of the owners, under consideration of government advice and travel restrictions in place at the time of future bookings. Any cancellations on the COVID19 postponed stays that are not affected by government restrictions will be subject to the cancellation policy in place at the time of their original booking. ie. if guests were postponing their dates within 30days of their original booking, the new dates cannot be cancelled and will be subject to a 100% cancellation fee of the booking total.

COVID19 CREDIT NOTES:
For all change of date and postponed stays, bookings are subject to the rates at the time of new bookings (ie. if guests are moving dates from a low season to a high season, guests will be required to pay the difference at the time of moving their booking to secure new dates. However, if guests are moving their dates from a high season to a low season, any unused credit may be used towards extending the number of nights or adding additional guests. Any small credit under the value of additional nightly stays or additional guests may be used for additional extras such as a welcome platter or bottle of champagne etc. which in turn helps our local suppliers and community to rebuild also. We are closely monitoring the situation and reviewing this policy as the weeks continue. We will make necessary changes as new government directives arise.

TERMS & CONDITIONS


Please read these terms and conditions carefully. When you make a booking, you accept on behalf of your party the terms of these booking conditions. It is your responsibility to ensure that all of the details on your confirmation documents are correct and to bring to our attention any errors or discrepancies within 48 hours of your booking. Guests accept and are held fully responsible for their visitors or children which may result in injury or harm when staying or visiting the property and its surroundings. Any breach of these terms and conditions may result in immediate eviction with no refund or cancellation of your booking.

 

CHECK-IN + CHECK-OUT

Standard check-in time is 3 pm on the day of arrival and the property is to be vacated by 10 am on the day of departure. An additional fee will be charged if you do not check out by 10 am. Early arrivals and late check-outs are at the discretion of Management and must be requested at the time of booking and can only be confirmed 1 day prior to arrival or departure. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate early arrivals and late departures, the only way to absolutely ensure an early check-in or late check-out is to book an extra night.

 

SECURITY BOND

Your credit card details will be held on the system as a security bond. Your credit card will be automatically debited in the event of damage to the property, equipment, breakages or if extra cleaning is required. Please note: we will only process monies on your credit card or if there is reported damage to the Property, or if the 'Terms and Conditions are not adhered to. If you do not hold a credit card and cannot provide one as a bond, we will require a $2000 cash bond to be paid. This payment will be refunded within 14 days of departure, once we receive your departure inspection report and no charges are required. (Please inform our office via email if you wish to pay the required bond via this method). Our place is designed to a high standard, properties are finished and furnished with costly materials and products. You become responsible for any and all damage and loss to the property and its contents from the date and time you check-in to the date and time you check-out. Any damaged items in the properties will be charged the full advertised replacement cost and product brand. The Property is a residential premise and is strictly for Residential use. The number of occupants allowed is as per approved on your booking email and as advertised. The use of the property for functions, parties or other like mass gatherings are STRICTLY PROHIBITED unless written consent has been emailed by management. Use of the property for such events or other than as a residential premise will result in the termination of the reservation for the property, removal of the Guest (s) and other occupants from the property and other costs or expenses (including an unauthorised function/extra cleaning fee of $500).

FUNCTIONS + LARGE GROUP GATHERINGS

We do accept functions, parties and large group gatherings, however, these are all STRICTLY prohibited without written consent from Management prior to your arrival.

 

LOCATION HIRE

Location hire for photoshoots and video shoots must be pre-approved in writing by management. No images including the property are to be used for marketing purposes unless pre-approved in writing by our marketing team.

 

ADDITIONAL TERMS FOR APPROVED FUNCTIONS + LARGE GROUP GATHERINGS

1. An EFT $2,000 bond is payable 7 days prior to check-in.
2. The bond will be held up to 14 days from the departure date.
3. No more than 30 guests/visitors in total can be onsite at one time.
4. The bond must be paid for and held in trust 30 days prior to arrival to confirm your booking.
5. Any items which you may wish to move in the apartment must be advised to Management prior to your stay and pre-approved in writing.
 

 

NUMBER OF GUESTS

At no time during your occupancy is the number of guests staying to exceed the number booked, unless prior approval is sought and given by management in writing. The use of extra beds other than the number booked will attract an additional tariff.

 

CHILDREN

We welcome children of all ages to our property. Children’s prices for accommodation are included in the standard tariff rates and refer to children using existing bedding. A complimentary porta-cot can be supplied for children under the age of 2 years. Guests are required to supply linen for this cot and must be set up by guests. Steps and balconies need to be taken into consideration before booking (particularly in Salt One & Salt Three). Please note there are no baby gates or stair barriers and supervision is the responsibility of parents & guardians. Please contact management if you need further information. No refund will be given if the accommodation is deemed unsuitable after check in. Supervision of children around fireplaces, stairs, balconies, roads, driveways, bunk beds and all areas of the property and surrounds are the sole responsibility of parents/guardians and Salt at Shoal Bay accepts no responsibility.

 

BUNK BEDS(IF APPLICABLE)

Use of the bunk beds is at the discretion of parents/guardians. Please be considerate of Salt Two guests staying on the ground floor below and ensure children are not jumping off bunks. Please note, the top bunk in Salt One is particularly high and it is recommended for children over 12 years of age only.FIREPLACES
Fireplaces are to be operated by adults over the age of 18 only and are operated at your own risk. You will be held liable for any damage you cause including smoke or ember damage from incorrect use. If using a wood or gas fire, you will ensure the fire is switched off or put out entirely whenever you leave the premises even for short periods.Supervision of children around all fireplaces is required and is the responsibility of parents/guardians. ALL fireplaces and their external casings can get very hot and may cause serious burns if touched. It is strongly recommended that the fireplaces not be operated when children are staying onsite.

 

NOISE

Disturbance to other guests and neighbours including excessive noise, music and unruly behaviour is prohibited and may result in eviction without refund. If a noise complaint is received; a first warning will be given. If a second complaint is received this will result in immediate eviction with no refund.

 

PET POLICY

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept pets. No pets are permitted on the property at any time. Additional cleaning charges will apply if this condition is breached and deducted from your credit card.

 

STRICTLY NO SMOKING

Smoking on the property indoors is strictly prohibited. If there is any evidence of smoking inside the property you will be charged an additional $1000 for a specialised clean to eliminate odours and remove chemical residue before future guests may use the space.

 

CLEANING

Units must be left in the condition they were in upon guests arrival. Excess cleaning fees up to $500 may apply (e.g. rubbish not being removed, dishes not washed and put away, barbecues not cleaned). Please report any existing damage to the unit upon your arrival. Please immediately report any damage which occurs during your stay.

MOVEMENT BETWEEN UNITS

Movement of furniture within units and also between additional spaces is strictly prohibited. All items or furniture (indoor or outdoor) are exclusive to that particular unit and must not be moved between the three spaces. In the case of multiple bookings across our three spaces, movement of any items belonging to that unit (ie. furniture, plates, cups, cushions, linen, utensils etc.) will incur additional inventory checks and housekeeping fees up to $500. If you have a large booking where extra items are required (and a function is approved in writing by management) Salt at Shoal Bay can supply you with hire company contact information. Any damages/excess cleaning caused by movement of items or furniture will be deducted from the bond.

LOST OR DAMAGED KEYS

Please note- This is the guest's responsibility and an additional $50-150 will be charged to your card for lost or damaged keys. If guests lose keys or lock keys inside the property and require access, a security call-out fee will apply. If replacement keys need to be cut, key barrels need to be replaced, or in secure complexes, re-keying is required costs will be calculated based accordingly and charged to the guest.

 

INDEMNITY

Guests and their visitor's actions, conduct and safety are the responsibility of the Guests. We do not condone: unsafe, irresponsible or illegal actions/behaviour etc. on or off the premises, during a stay or at any other time. A condition of entering and/or staying at this property means that all Guests understand and agree to indemnify the agent and owners against any responsibility or action(s) (legal or other), due to any action(s), incident(s), loss or injury(s) while within or outside of the premises (including, but not limited to, the grounds, facilities, structures, etc.) during a stay or at any other time. Your booking request will be confirmed once your payment has been receipted and a receipt emailed to you following your booking confirmation.

 

PAYMENT POLICY

Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure your dates. If payment is not received by the due date, Uistay reserves the right to cancel the booking. Rates quoted are in Australian dollars and are subject to change at any time. we are not liable for and is not required to honour any pricing displayed that is quoted in error. A cancellation under these circumstances does not incur any cancellation fee. Rates are inclusive of GST where applicable. Any verbal quote given is an estimate only of price, which will be subject to written advice on confirmation of the booking. Minimum length of stay restrictions applies to certain rates during special event periods. The preferred method of payment is Visa, MasterCard, Amex or JCB are accepted and a 1.5% surcharge applies for these card transactions.

 

SECURITY BOND

Your credit card details will be held on the system and your credit card will be automatically debited in the event of damage to the property, equipment, breakages or if extra cleaning is required.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

- Cancellations with MORE THAN 90 days notice prior to your arrival a 20% cancellation fee of the booking total will be incurred.
- Cancellations BETWEEN 30 - 90 days notice prior to your arrival date 50% cancellation fee of the booking total will be incurred.
- Cancellations WITHIN 30 days of your arrival date a 100% cancellation fee of the booking total will be incurred.

No cancellations are accepted within 30 days of your arrival date. You will be charged the total of the reserved stay under all circumstances. Written notification must be provided for all cancellations.

In the event, we must cancel your accommodation for circumstances beyond our control a full refund will be made. However, we will not be held liable for any further costs incurred. We strongly recommend travel insurance (even for domestic travel) to cover cancellations, travel delays and all other unforeseen incidents and accidents.
